ABOUT ABOUT

Be an explorer and paddle for a cause!

Discover the treasures of the upper Hampton River on this tour that benefits local wildlife. Join us for this special paddle with eco-experts!

Use one of our kayaks or bring your own!

Maggie Vaughan, volunteer with Tidewater Wildlife Rescue and Nature’s Nanny Wildlife Rehabilitation will share her expertise and experiences with us! Learn what to look for when it comes to sick, injured and/or entangled birds and wildlife, as well as how to help.

Our bee expert is Bill Freudenberg, a beekeeper on the Hampton River, who maintains three apiaries.  Bill’s bee habit was driven to pollinate his gardening habit but has grown into raising bees and harvesting honey. A limited quantity of honey will be available for purchase at this paddle!

Shored Up is staffed by Virginia Certified Ecotour guides.

Please help spread the word, especially since a percentage of proceeds from this tour will go to support the efforts of Nature's Nanny/Tidewater Wildlife Rescue as well as beekeeping efforts.

Light snacks and drinks will be provided.
